| this song is very old. it's about a friend of mine named Liz...Liz was
special, but she couldn't shake her heroin addiction, or her
alchoholism...I don't know where she is today...she disappeared.
I decided to post these lyrics after seeing Cari's new picture...which is shatteringly hopeless. The song is called Neon Angel
neon angel looks pretty at night but its a different story in the mornin'
guilt creeps in and joy slips away and you can't remember why
what was goin' on last night in your head
when you took that stranger to your bed
you can't remember wherefore and you can't recall the why
your heart in the sand and your face in your hands you hang your head and cry cry cry
now you're feeling worthless and you don't know what's been said
your face has now become this scarlet shade of red red red
all the drugs and alchohol what are they to you now
an aching head a rumpled bed and a conscience that screams loud loud loud
this life you lead is pointless and worse it's wreathed in shame
you look for men to save you but they all bring you pain pain pain
and the one Man that could save you - you always push away
and as i sit here watching for your soul i pray pray pray

| Kimbell's Day
smiley kimbell, light and nimble how goes thy morning now? have you fed the horse and gathered eggs? have you milked the cow? or are you at your books again cluttering your mind are you slaving out your days spending youthful time? Or have you gone to see your lad In yon house down the way Smiley kimbell light and nimble Where are you today?
The sun is rising over the weathervane and barn And mother sits there in her nightclothes balling up her yarn As father walks between the rows of corn upon his farm with little sister cradled so beneath his loving arm as kimbell runs through fields of clover scattering her charms
there’s no need for alarm
smiley kimbell light and nimble it’s off to school again and what a silly way you think a sunny day to spend it must be done there is no choice you must hold in your joy and stifle low your giddy voice when thinking of your boy for the day is coming and is now and you shall see him soon so off you go without a row whistling a tune
the sun is shining down upon the world around today and underneath that happy sun a bad word she won’t say for if she will find one if she can her will will find a way to see her boy through thick and thin the devil come what may
kimbell’s day
as cottonballs and cannonballs
collide up in the sky
nimble kimbell shows her dimples
with stars all in her eyes
